Notre Dame High School Board of Directors

NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES GOVERNANCE TRANSITION

Notre Dame High School in Fairfield, CT was the first high school established in 1956 by the Diocese of Bridgeport. It stands strong with 15,000 alumni across the globe. Effective July 1, 2022, Notre Dame’s governance model shifts from a Diocesan high school to a Diocesan-sponsored high school.

“As the most tenured high school in the Diocese, it is only fitting that Notre Dame serve as the final institution to shift to the new Diocesan governance model. I remain committed to local governance of our high schools. This structure offers school leadership the autonomy to innovate and grow while remaining committed to the strong Catholic identity which ground our schools. There is no doubt that a bright and rich future lays ahead for Notre Dame and its graduates.”
- Bishop Frank Caggiano

Under the new structure, the Diocese continues to retain certain privileges, including approval of Board members, guardianship of the school’s Catholic mission, and ownership of the property. Day-to-day management of the school, its administration, operational budgets, and facility maintenance, become the responsibility of the school’s Board of Directors.
