Meet Delaney

Where are you from?

I live in Stratford, CT, but I moved here from Long Island when I was in 6th grade.

How did you first hear about Notre Dame?

Both of my older brothers went here. When we moved, my older brother really liked the school. All the great things he said trickled down to me and motivated me to come.

What made you want to come to Notre Dame?

Listening to my older brother talk about the school. He would tell me about the sporting events and the clubs he was in, it all appealed to me.

What activities are you involved in?

I’m in a lot of service-based clubs like Campus Ministry. I’m also in the Distinguished Scholars Program, the Spanish and National Honor Societies, Link Crew, and I’m a Lancer Ambassador.

What has been your most memorable experience at Notre Dame?

I think the trip to Holiday Hill. It was the first time in two years, because of COVID, that the whole school got to share such a fun experience outside the classroom.

What do you love most about Notre Dame?

I like it because it’s a very small school. I know everybody. I can talk to anybody. It makes me more comfortable to be in an environment where there are really no strangers.

What has been your favorite service project?

My favorite service project was when we went to a local elementary school and helped clean out a locker room my freshmen year. It took all day, and students from all class years participated. It was probably the first time I got to talk to upperclassmen.
