In 2011, Notre Dame High School entered into a partnership with Sacred Heart University that has resulted in capital improvements to the high school and academic assistance to the students and faculty.

Through the partnership, SHU and NDHS have worked together to enhance the high school’s athletic fields and bring wireless technology to its classrooms. Notre Dame students, faculty and staff also have use of the Ryan Matura Library at Sacred Heart University. In addition, Sacred Heart provides a 50% tuition discount to academically qualified Notre Dame graduates who attend SHU full time.

Dr. John J. Petillo, President of Sacred Heart said, “As two Catholic institutions that share a common mission and vision, it’s great to be able to work more collaboratively and to further develop a mutually supportive relationship."

The agreement further strengthens the long-standing academic and community relationship between the two schools, he said.

Father Bill Sangiovanni, former President of Notre Dame High School, said at the time, “This infusion of academic resources and capital investment will have an immediate and huge impact on our campus. This represents a new era for NDHS - students, faculty and alumni will all benefit - now and far into the 21st century."
