Congratulations to our girls soccer team on winning their second-consecutive SWC Championship!

On Wednesday, November 1st , Notre Dame High School became back-to-back SWC Girls Soccer Champions!

After completing the regular season with an impressive 13-2-1 record, the Lancers took on Joel Barlow in the opening round of the SWC Tournament. They kept their momentum going into the semi-final match-up against Bethel and soon found themselves facing off against Brookfield in the finals, who they also faced in last year’s championship game. A tough first half left the Lancers down 1-0, but ND came back strong with Sara Reiger ‘24 taking the reins and leading the team to victory. Sara scored both of Notre Dame’s two goals, with the latter ending the match in overtime. The Lancers became champions once again with a final score of 2-1.

Coach Wayne Mones commented, “All the credit goes to the girls and especially the seniors. We have 11 seniors. This is their last time through and to be able to lead us to victory two years in a row is absolutely fantastic. Our girls have worked hard all year, they’ve been resilient and I think we’re one of the best teams in the state. We’ll see how we do in the LL (Class LL State Championship Tournament). It’s going to be a challenge, but I think our girls are going to be up to it.”
