Notre Dame Prep proudly announces that Maddie Venech ‘28 and Salina Velasquez ‘26 are eligible to participate in the 2026 CT Music Educators Association (CMEA) All State Festival. After qualifying for the All Region Festival earlier this school year, Maddie and Salina were among almost 2,000 high school music students in CT who scored high enough to audition for All State. As part of the audition process, students performed a designated solo, scales, and sight read new music in front of a panel of judges. Because of their high scores, Maddie and Salina will now participate in the All State Choirs at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford from March 26th-March 28th.
“I am incredibly proud of Maddie and Salina's accomplishment. Making All State is a testament to, not days, but years worth of dedication, commitment, hard work, and practice of their musical craft,” said NDP music teacher Mr. Chuba.
These music students will work with different guest conductors from around the country, gaining different insight and experience in learning and performing music at the highest level. The Festival will culminate with a concert on Sunday, March 28th at 1:00pm at the Convention Center.
“To be recognized among the elite high school musicians in the state is impressive. I can think of no two students to better represent Notre Dame Prep. Congratulations, and I look forward to the All State concert!”
