After hosting thousands of basketball and volleyball games, countless masses and spring musicals and dozens of graduations, our gymnasium is in desperate need of an upgrade. The floor is the original from 1968, the year the building was built. It has sustained water damage from a leaky roof (which we've recently fixed) and has buckled in several areas (which we've temporarily fixed). Needless-to-say, the life of the floor came to an end several years ago. As part of our gym upgrade, besides replacing the floor (and safely removing asbestos), we plan to paint the entire gym and replace the bleachers, backboards, wall padding, stage curtains and lighting.
Our gym is the heart of our school. Besides sporting events, school masses, honor society inductions, cabarets, dances, open houses, and fundraisers all take place in the gymnasium. As the center of N.D. activities, we are moving forward on this $300,000.00 campaign to completely update our gymnasium. Because of the immediate need of a floor replacement (and safety concerns), we are hoping to complete our renovations this summer, and we are turning to you to help make this dream of ours a reality. We have already received a $10,000.00 donation to help kick off our campaign. Please consider making a donation, as part of our Gym Renovation/2008 Annual Fund campaign, to help us reach our goal.
