Flash Music Videos

Mission: Choose a music file and create a fully animated video for a song.

Software: Adobe Flash CS3

What is Flash? Flash is a program that is used to create frame by frame animation with a computer. In it's simplest form, think of it as an old-fashioned flip book animation. This program is pretty involved, and most of the students draw their own art in Flash, as well as frame by frame animation, which must be timed to music.

Please be patient. These files are all between 1 and 5 megs each and may take some time to load.

Photoshop iPod Ads

Mission: From scratch, create a 1280 x 720 pixel advertisement for the ever popular ipod. Utilizes adjustment layers, various brushes, textures, layer blending modes, and layer clipping. Students take their own 'dancing' photo and create the 'ipod' look.

Photoshop Pop Art

Mission: Students will choose an iconic photograph to work with in creating a vintage style 'pop' art piece. Students will work with blending modes, advanced layer manipulation, and a basic knowledge and understanding of the 'pop' art feel.

Photoshop Comic Inspired Panels

Mission: Students get a brief background of famed graphic novel artist, Frank Miller. After students are exposed to his high contrast noire style, they create their own take on it. Students stage and take their photos during class, and manipulate a raw photo into a piece of comic book art utilizing photoshop.

Photoshop Magazine Covers

Mission: Using a digital camera, take a high resolution photo of yourself, and utilize it in a popular magazine of the day. Every aspect of magazine must be created by student, including text, photos, graphics and effects.

Dreamweaver/Fireworks Websites

Mission: Create and design a fully interactive website using Dreamweaver and Fireworks. Students will utilize various html, java and graphic effects.

iMovie Public Service Announcements

Mission: Your group will create an original 30-60 second public service announcement on video. Storyboards, scripts, and footage all done in cooperative groups of 5 students. Editing done in iMovie by the group.
