We recently began an ambitious $300,000.00 capital campaign to raise the funds needed to completely renovate our gymnasium. I am very excited to tell you that we are nearly three-quarters of the way to our goal, but still need your help to make this dream of ours a reality. After hosting thousands of basketball and volleyball games, countless masses and spring musicals and dozens of graduations (including the Class of 2008’s on May 31), our gymnasium, the heart of our school, is in desperate need of an upgrade. The floor is the original from 1968, the year the building was built. It has sustained water damage from a leaky roof (which we've recently fixed) and has buckled in several areas (which we've temporarily fixed). Needless-to-say, the life of the floor came to an end several years ago. As part of our gym upgrade, besides replacing the floor (and safely removing asbestos), we plan to paint the entire gym and replace the bleachers, backboards, wall padding, stage curtains, sound system and lighting. Please consider making a donation, as part of our 2008 Annual Fund campaign, to help us reach our goal. Your donation will be greatly appreciated by us and future generations of N.D. students. Please see the enclosed donation envelope for specific giving levels. Please know, though, that any donation, no matter how big or how small, will be much appreciated and put to good use as we push closer and closer to our goal. It is through your commitment to your alma mater, that we can continue to make Notre Dame one of the best private schools in Southwestern Connecticut. If you would like to tour our facility and or discuss giving and naming options, please contact our Development Office. God bless you and your family and thank you for your continued support of Notre Dame.
