Improving. One simple words sums up the Lancer softball program. A program that occasionally went seasons without a win, has continued to improve from season to season, and the 2007 campaign was no different. Despite starting the season 0-10, ND posted a total of four wins on the season and helped to top their 2006 win total. Coach John Schack noted that his team was "learning how to win and working on their confidence" throughout the season. The Lancers posted wins over Kolbe (twice), Brookfield and Barlow. In addition, two of the team's losses were by a lone run. Important contributors to the continued growth in ND program were seniors Alicia Glifort (All Patriot Division) and Bridgit Thayer, junior pitcher Kasey Jennewein and sophomores Danielle Figueroa (All Patriot Division) and Ashley Tranquillo. The Lancers will look to build upon their '07 win total next season and with several key players returning to the diamond, continued improvement is all but expected.
