Coming off a 6-10 record in 2006 and falling a game short of qualifying for post-season play, the boys' lacrosse team set a goal to improve upon their game in every aspect for the 2007 season.  With a solid core of returning players and the loss of only a few key seniors, the varsity team's depth was aided by the addition of a large sophomore class. First year coach Frank Skawinski was hoping to have a successful start to his coaching career with the Lancers lacrosse team. The team's philosophy was simple: "No Regrets." Senior captains Michael Penna (Honorable Mention) and Joe Broderick led the team and were the heads of the defensive unit. Rounding out the defense was senior Pat Purcell and juniors Matt Plumb, Will Pearce, and Matt Pinto. Junior Joe Banno (Honorable Mention) assumed the starting position of goalkeeper for the Lancers coming off an astounding sophomore year by posting a .667 save percentage, ranked 11th amongst goalies in the state. At midfield, seniors Brian Chaves and Niloy Shah, as well as returning juniors Kevin Conniff, Bill Javins, and Mike Criscuolo paced the Lancers. Many sophomores also competed for playing time on the varsity squad.

Completing the team at attack was junior Anthony Capelli (Honorable Mention) and sophomores Matt Caulfield and Eddie Johnston. Capelli led the N.D. offense with 45 goals and 4 assist. In the end, the Lancers ended up experiencing some growing pains in 2007 and posted a 3-13 final record. The Lancers topped Westhill, Stonington, and Housatonic Regional for their three wins but ran into some tough SWC competition. Coach Skawinski is very optimistic about the talent returning to the field in the spring of 2008 and hopes to ultimately return the team to the league and state playoffs.
