ND HOCKEY
Kerri Rowland, Head Coach, Girls

The N.D. girls' hockey team returned to the ice looking to build upon their 7-13 record of last season, with several seniors leading the team. In a pre-season interview, Coach Kerri Rowland expected seniors Emilie Capaldo, Briana Dellamura and Emily Cryan to provide most of the N.D. offense, with Lorenda Alward anchoring the defense. Coach Rowland also expected freshman talent to protect the N.D. goal with Jordan D'Aurio earning this roster spot. Other important contributors to the team included Bridgit Connors, Olivia Stacey and Jackie Bria on defense and freshman Molly Verderame, who coach described as a "goal-scorer of the future". The Lancers opened their season with a solid 2-1 victory over Daniel Hand, but scattered their wins throughout the season and posted a 6-14 regular season record. N.D. earned a spot in the CGHL tournament and posted a quarter-final victory over West Haven. This win earned the girls a game against Simsbury and the opportunity to play at the Ingals Rink at Yale. Unfortunately, the team lost this game in overtime, but still had at least one other game to play. An invitation to the state girls' tournament awaited, but a tough 4-2 loss against Greenwich ended the Lancers season. With several key players graduating, Coach Rowland will look to her younger talent to step up next season as the Lady Lancers will look to return to post-season play.
