ND BAND

The mission of the Notre Dame Band is to educate students in the history, diversity, and importance of music while fostering an enriching, fun environment. The Notre Dame Band will bring its enthusiasm for music and music education to communities outside the school so others can share in the joys of the world's diverse music.

In 1996, two students, Richard Hass and Richard Perusi approached Notre Dame principal, Fr. Bill Sangiovanni, about starting a music program at Notre Dame. With total support from Fr. Bill, the students contacted Anthony DeQuattro, a local jazz musician and member of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, to direct the fledgling group. The new Notre Dame Band, comprised of a pianist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer, gave its first performance at the Garlic Festival that spring.

This award winning band annually performs a Christmas concert, a spring radio show, several educational shows at local elementary schools, and various concerts at malls, nursing homes, and jazz festivals.
