Sacred Heart University/Notre Dame Partnership

To supplement their reference sources, students are accorded library privileges by Sacred Heart University, located within walking distance of the school. Should they wish additional information on a particular topic, students need only obtain a pass, signed by the librarian, entitling them to borrow books and other materials from the university library.

Sacred Heart University and Notre Dame Catholic High School have entered into a mutually cooperative relationship in order to use their educational resources in the service of the larger community; to strengthen their ties to each other; and to give the youth of the region an added incentive to successfully complete high school and to go to college by challenging them with college level course work while they are still in highschool. SHU has reviewed Notre Dame's curriculum and selected several advanced courses appropriate for college bound students.

Juniors and Seniors are eligible to participate in this special program. Students in courses like Advanced Placement Humanities, AP Calculus, AP American History, Government, or English Literature may enroll. Students actually register at SHU and pay a registration fee of approximately $150 per course. Students receive credit at both SHU and Notre Dame. Students may also present this transcript to other colleges for possible transfer credit. Acceptance of the credit is naturally the decision of the particular college.
